SUMMARY

An enthusiastic manager with over twenty-five years of technical, project and business management experience, within the private, public and higher education sectors. The last thirteen years working as an Institute Manager developing a collaborative, transdisciplinary research environment and strong external engagement activities. Driven by the opportunity to make a difference and provide real world, innovative solutions to sustainability challenges. Also interested in harnessing multiple perspectives and developing a holistic, team approach to sustainability.
UNIVERSITY ROLES
Manager of Sustainable Earth Institute
Responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day running of a University Research Institute with over 300 members from a variety of disciplines, including science, engineering, arts, humanities, health and business. Including developing the concept, obtaining the funding and delivering the Creative Associates activity.

Director, Net-Zero Exchange
Successfully developed concept and bids for over £1m funding for project which builds on Low Carbon Devon and further develops connections between enterprises and researchers.
Deputy Director, Sustainability Hub: Low Carbon Devon (2019-2023)
Successfully developed concept and bid for £2.6m ERDF funded project supporting Devon-based organisations to access research, business support, and engage with the ²ÝùÊÓÆµ around the low-carbon agenda. Now overseeing its delivery, including responsibility for 8 staff.

I am very proud to be a Trustee of ²ÝùÊÓÆµ Energy Community (PEC) and contributing to empowering our community to create a fair, affordable, zero carbon energy system with local people at its heart.
Chair and Founder Member, ²ÝùÊÓÆµ Net Zero Carbon Action Group:
I am a founder member and Chair of the ²ÝùÊÓÆµ Net Zero Carbon Action Group; a group of larger, corporate and public sector organisations in ²ÝùÊÓÆµ (including ²ÝùÊÓÆµ City Council, ²ÝùÊÓÆµ, University Hospitals ²ÝùÊÓÆµ NHS Trust (Derriford Hospital), ²ÝùÊÓÆµ Science Park, ²ÝùÊÓÆµ Marjon University and Babcock) getting together to develop a shared understanding of our ambitions around the climate emergency and improve our activity for reducing our carbon emissions.
